Coming to America!!!!

I am so EXCITED to announce the stateside launch of international makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury’s eponymous collection is finally here! The line will launch online first next week, September 2, and then Charlotte is partnering up with Bergdorf Goodman in New York and Nordstrom in Los Angeles at The Grove for MASSIVE launch events in early October, and rolling out in major regional markets with Nordstrom through November.

Charlotte is considered one of the biggest makeup artists in the world. She counts Kate Moss, Jennifer Lopez, Penelope Cruz, Sienna Miller, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Gisele, Rihanna, Natalie Portman, Eva Mendes and more as clients, and is beloved by industry insiders from models to photographers and designers who all consider Charlotte their go-to. Charlotte has taken the wealth of knowledge she’s amassed thanks to her 20+ years in the industry to create a range of skincare and cosmetic products based on Hollywood icons and celebrities to take the guesswork out of shopping the makeup counter. The range will be launching online first with CharlotteTilbury.com, Nordstrom.com, BergdorfGoodman.com, Net-A-Porter.com and BeautyLish.com, and will take NYC by storm on October 7 at Bergdorf Goodman. Charlotte will be hosting a master class with consumers in the morning teaching all the beauty looks she’s famous for and that afternoon will host a cocktail party to celebrate the launch with her celebrity friends, industry insiders, and consumers. As part of the Bergdorf launch she’ll also be unveiling the first-ever beauty specific windows for Bergdorf Goodman!

After the NY launch event, Charlotte will travel to Los Angeles where the line will take over Nordstrom at The Grove with a beauty festival for consumers on October 10 and 11. Celebrity friends will make appearances and there will be lots of fun, interactive elements such as: lipstick readings; facial mapping; a “Turn Back Time Skincare Bar” where you can learn the 5 steps to looking 5 years younger, learn how to contour your face AND body, etc. Launch events will also be hosted with Nordstrom in other major markets including Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Orange County, Washington D.C. and Las Vegas through Spring 2015.


Charlotte’s Magic Cream Treat & Transform Moisturizer, $95

Hi Lovelies!

This review is for the Dermaflage Topical Perfecting Filler, which is designed to fill in problem areas such as recessed scars and wrinkles. I was sent their kit to try out, and having some problem areas of my own, was more than willing to give it a shot. The kit includes 14 fl ounces of a liquid primer, two applicators, various application tools, and a texture pad. All of this comes in a small, plastic makeup bag with some extra tips for the applicators and detailed instructions.

I read through the instructions carefully, and even then it took me a bit to figure out how to apply the product correctly. In my first couple of trials, the filler came off with the texture pad, but I finally learned the trick and managed to get it to stay on with no lifting at the edges or any peeling.

The tone I selected matched my complexion nicely, and blended fairly smoothly. Looking in the mirror, I could not tell that it was there, and it did fill the areas I applied it to nicely. However, it felt heavy on my skin, and I could definitely tell that something was there. I expected this, as it is not really a makeup or a concealer, but a silicon based filler.

I kept it on while I went to work, thinking to see if it would hold up to a 10 hour day, in real world conditions. Almost immediately, the edges started cracking and lifting, causing my fellow employees to question what was wrong with my face. They asked if I was peeling from a sunburn, and when I went to the bathroom to look, that was exactly what it looked like.

Over all, I would say the Dermaflage Topical Perfecting filler is not a bad product, but not one that should be worn in everyday life. It would be perfect for a photo-shoot, or maybe through a first date, but long term application did not work for me. They offer many different shades, to match most skin tones and supply enough for 60 – 200 applications, depending on the area one wishes to cover. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow, and everything is clearly labeled as to the order of use. As I found, and they also admit, it may take a bit of practice to get the silicon to stick just right.

I would recommend the Dermaflage filler to anyone wishing to cover a trouble area for a short time, but for me, it did not stay in place as long as I might wish it to.

Today I am writing on Michelle Phan's .EM Life Palette, specifically the Day Life package. This is a neat little package sectioned off into four color groupings which includes the essentials for eyes, lips and cheeks. She has everything clearly labeled, and even gives some detailed instructions to recreate her unique looks.

Also included in the kit is a smaller, separate container designed so that the entire kit does not need to be transported in case someone needs to reapply or touch up an area. This system works fairly well for those of us who are constantly on the go and have only limited space in our purses! It is easy to pick the shades you want to wear, pop them out of the master kit and place them in the smaller holder to take with you.

The makeups she uses are of fairly high quality, giving easy application and all day dependability. The colors selected are subtle, letting a woman's natural beauty do the work instead of looking “made up.” This is a full kit, including with it the application brush, instructions, the larger palette, its smaller companion and a little tool used to pop out the individual color disks so that they may be swapped around. Everything is labeled as to its use, and size is coordinated, making it extremely user friendly. In fact, it is so user friendly that it seems to have been designed with the younger user in mind. I personally would have no problem giving this palette to a young woman just starting to learn to apply her own makeup, and would feel confident that she would be able to follow the instructions and be able to create her own look in just a short time.

I think the life palette is an excellent idea and a product that would have been nice to have available to me when I was starting out all those years ago. If there is a little girl in your life who is ready to venture out on her own into the sometimes overwhelming world of cosmetics, I would recommend getting The Life Palette for her. She will be happy that she can learn to apply her own makeup fairly easily, and you will be pleased that she wont look trashy doing it!

My dearest followers,



Please allow me to begin by apologizing for my long absence. I had some family emergencies come up which kept me away from the computer for some time. I thank you for you all sticking with me, even though you did not know if I would be coming back! It means so much to me knowing that I have a group of loyal people, willing to stick around for my next post.

I am back now, hopefully for an extended period, with regular postings. I am happy to talk with you about the new products that I have been given a chance to try in order to pass my opinions on to you. I will continue to share tips with you, and am always open for a chat regarding beauty, health, and fashion.
